The default login screen for WordPress is boring (e.g. http://www.site.com/wp-login.php), which isn’t usually an issue if you are the only one updating your blog or website. If you have clients, customers or friends logging into your blog, you may want to spice it up a little.
In todays post I will show you the quickest and easiest way to add your logo to the WordPress login page.
Here is the default login screen:
In previous versions of WordPress, to change the look of your login box you had to edit two images called login-bkg-tile.gif and login-bkg-bottom.gif. The login box is much simpler now with just a basic logo above the username and password fields. This logo is entitled logo-login.gif and is located in the /wp-admin/images/ folder. So to brand your blog with your own logo you simply need to replace this logo with your own and upload it to the /wp-admin/images/ folder.
Here is the new login screen for WPMods:
Of course, it’s very easy to forget about the login screen logo and overwrite it when you update WordPress. Therefore I suggest creating a modifications folder for your site and saving the image in there. You can also place other modded files and notes about your mods in this directory. Then it’s just a matter of checking this folder for mods after every update.
Hope you enjoyed this super quick tutorial. Thanks for all.
